4th Oct 2025: More Health Workers arrested at October De-Proscription vigil in solidarity with Palestinians

At least 7 health professionals were arrested today at the latest protest against the unprecedented proscription of Palestine Action, and the UK’s continued complicity in the genocide in Gaza and in solidarity with the Palestinian people. As before, placard holders sat in a peaceful vigil holding signs stating: “I oppose Genocide. I support Palestine Action”. Just before the vigil a banner displaying the same words was dropped from Westminster Bridge.

1000 people, including Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Sikh groups are estimated to have attended with around 500 arrests. The vigil took place just two days after the horrific attack at a Manchester synagogue. Jewish protesters released a statement saying the Home Secretary is “cynically exploiting this tragic event” in Manchester to “justify a ban on the mass protests against Israel’s genocide in Gaza”.
The names of the 18,500 Palestinian children slaughtered by the Israeli military were read out, one by one, during the vigil. However the list is so long it was not possible to read all the names by the end of the vigil.
