21st-24th April 2023: Hundreds of health professionals join 100,000 people at the Big One

This peaceful four-day action outside Parliament, called on the government to take action on the climate crisis, to end fossil fuel funding and for the creation of citizens’ assemblies.

The Planetary Health Hub, run by a coalition of health partners including HXR, had a busy programme of climate-related talks, panels, workshops, climate cafes, games tent and banner sewing. Health professionals picketed outside the Department of Health and Social Care, asking them to implement a public health campaign on climate change.

They also took part in the huge ‘Big One For Biodiversity’ march including a mass die-in, in silence, to represent species lost and under threat.
